Lunor is the German optical archive translated into wearable frames. The founder, Gernot Lindner, built the brand on a private collection of 19th- and 20th-century spectacles, then reissued the silhouettes with modern measurements, hand-finished acetate, and German hardware. The result reads as heritage without costume.

Every Lunor model traces back to an antique in the company archive. The shapes are historically literate (panto, club master, Windsor round), yet the bridge, temple, and pantoscopic geometry are reworked for the modern face.
Hand-finished acetate
Mazzucchelli acetate, milled in Germany, polished by hand. The depth of color on a Lunor havana or amber is unmistakable up close, the kind of finish that only emerges from days of bench work.
The Lunor signature rivet
A small horizontal pin on the temple, often three-dot. It is the visual signal of the brand and a quiet nod to the 1930s spectacle-makers Lunor reissues. No oversized logo, no etched lens.
Made in Germany hardware
Stainless temples, nickel-silver alloys, and bench-grade hinges. The build feels heavier than you expect in the hand and lighter than you expect on the face. That balance is a Lunor trademark.

The Lunor collections
The classic acetate line (the A series), the metal models (M series), the rimless line, and the limited-edition reissues of historical frames. The A5 and A6 panto shapes are the most-requested at our bench. They suit a wide range of faces and age beautifully. We rotate stock across our stores, so call ahead for a specific model.

The brand is distributed sparingly in the US. Few opticians carry the depth of the line. As a preferred Lunor carrier, we are one of them, and Lunor does not chase volume. Pairing with prescription lenses
Lunor acetate is substantial enough to hold high-index lenses cleanly, and the panto and Windsor round shapes have generous vertical height for progressives. Their nose pads are typically adjustable metal, which lets us fine-tune fit for narrower or wider bridges. We measure by hand and verify at pickup.

Pricing. Lunor frames typically range from $500 to $800; limited-edition reissues can sit higher. Prescription lenses are priced separately based on your prescription strength, lens design, and coatings. We provide a written estimate before you commit.
Lens turnaround.Single-vision lenses are typically 5 to 7 business days; progressives, 7 to 10. Adjustments stay free for as long as you wear the frame.

Bridge width, pupillary distance (PD), and temple length at the bench. These numbers eliminate frames that won't sit correctly on your face.

A few questions before we pull any frames: mostly screen work or outdoors? Single pair or adding a sun option? Drive at night? The answers shape lens selection before you've touched a frame.

Frame trial and comparison
We pull three to five candidates. You try them in sequence - we give honest opinions on what's working. The two or three that survive go side by side until one is clear.

Lens selection and precision adjustment
Lens material, AR coating, tints if relevant. The frame gets adjusted to your face before you leave - bridge, temples, nose pads. That last step is why glasses from us don't slide.
