Lindberg at Voorthuis.

Screwless titanium, Danish minimalism, built to order · Since 1969, Aarhus

Lindberg is what happens when a Danish optician decides screws, rivets, and welds are unnecessary. Every frame is patient-fit titanium, hand-assembled in Aarhus, and built without a single soldered joint. Pick the front, the temple, the bridge, the color. As a licensed Lindberg carrier, we measure, Lindberg builds, and the result weighs less than a coin.

What you get with Lindberg.

i.

Screwless construction

No screws, no rivets, no welds. The hinge is a coiled length of titanium wire wound into the temple. It is the structural conceit of the brand and the reason a Lindberg frame still tracks straight after a decade.

ii.

Air Titanium

The original rimless Lindberg, introduced in 1983. A patient-fit grade-five titanium wire holds the lens; the bridge and temples are interchangeable. Most Air Titanium frames weigh under three grams.

iii.

Made to order in Aarhus

Off-the-shelf Lindberg does not really exist. We measure your bridge, temple length, and pantoscopic tilt at the bench, then Lindberg builds the frame in Denmark and ships it back. The lead time buys you the fit.

iv.

A vocabulary of restraint

No logos on the lens. No metal stamping. The Lindberg signal is the absence of decoration. It is the kind of frame people who already own three pairs choose for their fourth.

A closer look

Why we carry Lindberg.

What stands out, what to expect, and how a Lindberg frame ages over time.

The Lindberg collections

Air Titanium Rim (the iconic rimless), Strip Titanium (a thin titanium ribbon front), Acetanium (titanium temples with acetate fronts), n.o.w. (matte titanium, contemporary geometry), and the Spirit collection for children. Each line is built on the same screwless platform. Choose the silhouette that suits.

Why screwless matters

A screw loosens. A rivet stresses metal. A weld is a brittle point. Lindberg removes all three. The temple is a single coiled wire; the rim is held by tension; the bridge slots in without solder. After ten years of wear, a Lindberg frame still adjusts cleanly, because the metal has not been compromised at any joint.

Pairing with high-index lenses

A rimless or Air Titanium Lindberg is a strong match for high-index 1.67 or 1.74 lenses. The lighter the lens, the more the frame disappears. For progressives, we recommend the Strip Titanium or Acetanium silhouettes, which have enough vertical height for a comfortable corridor. We drill, mount, and verify at the bench before pickup.

Authorized dealer. Voorthuis is an authorized Lindberg retailer. Every frame arrives from the brand's authorized channel with the original case and documentation. Stock rotates across our stores - tell us the model you want and we'll transfer it to your preferred neighborhood location for a consultation and fitting.

Pricing. Lindberg frames typically range from $700 to $1,400 or more, depending on the line, materials, and customization. Prescription lenses are priced separately based on your prescription strength, lens design, and coatings. We provide a written estimate before you commit.

Lens turnaround.Because every Lindberg is built to order in Aarhus, plan on three to five weeks for the frame, then 5 to 10 business days for lens work on top. Adjustments stay free for as long as you wear the frame.

Collection guide

Which Lindberg collection fits.

Every line is built on the same screwless titanium platform. The difference is material, weight, and whether the lens sits in a rim. Find the silhouette, and we customize the fit from there.

Not sure yet? Bring your prescription (or get one with us) and we'll lay Lindberg side-by-side with the alternatives.
Our process

How we fit you.

No upsell, no rush. Try them on, fitted in person.

  1. 01

    Measurement first

Bridge width, pupillary distance (PD), and temple length at the bench. These numbers eliminate frames that won't sit correctly on your face.

  2. 02

    Lifestyle and use

A few questions before we pull any frames: mostly screen work or outdoors? Single pair or adding a sun option? Drive at night? The answers shape lens selection before you've touched a frame.

  3. 03

    Frame trial and comparison

We pull three to five candidates. You try them in sequence - we give honest opinions on what's working. The two or three that survive go side by side until one is clear.

  4. 04

    Lens selection and precision adjustment

Lens material, AR coating, tints if relevant. The frame gets adjusted to your face before you leave - bridge, temples, nose pads. That last step is why glasses from us don't slide.

Frequently asked

Lindberg questions, plainly answered.

How much do Lindberg frames cost?
Lindberg frames typically range from $700 to $1,400 or more, depending on the line, the materials, and the customization. Air Titanium and Strip Titanium fall in the lower range; bespoke acetate and gold mountings sit higher. We quote in writing before you commit.
Is Voorthuis an authorized Lindberg dealer?
Yes. Voorthuis is an authorized Lindberg retailer. Every frame is built to your specifications in Aarhus and ships directly from Denmark with full Lindberg documentation.
Why is the Lindberg lead time longer than other brands?
Because nothing is off the shelf. Once we measure you at the bench and finalize the build (front, temples, bridge, color), Lindberg manufactures the frame in Denmark and ships it back. Plan on three to five weeks for the frame, then standard lens turnaround on top.
Can Lindberg handle a strong prescription?
Yes. Rimless and Air Titanium Lindbergs pair especially well with high-index 1.67 or 1.74 lenses, because the thinner the lens, the more the frame disappears. For progressives we steer toward Strip Titanium or Acetanium silhouettes with enough vertical height for a comfortable corridor.
Are screwless Lindberg frames really more durable?
In our experience, yes. With no screws to loosen, no rivets stressing the metal, and no welds to fail, a Lindberg frame still adjusts cleanly after a decade of wear. The hinge, a coiled titanium wire wound into the temple, is the structural conceit.
Does Voorthuis accept vision insurance for Lindberg?
No. We don't bill vision insurance at any of our locations. We accept FSA and HSA, and provide itemized invoices for out-of-network reimbursement.
Can Lindberg adjustments be done locally?
Yes. Although the frame is built in Denmark, all adjustments and minor repairs happen at our bench. Free for the life of the frame.
